Shoppers can easily find shops where they can pick up or that deliver to them

What is the need / problem

Shoppers searching for shops that offer food to or around their location have trouble using the search function on /shops. The results that display for them aren’t always relevant to where they live or to where the shops will deliver to.

Who does it impact ?

Potential new customers for our enterprises, who want to find online food shops that have pick up or delivery options near them. This will become more and more important as more shoppers come directly to OFN in these C19 times, searching for new food supply options that don’t require them to go into a shop.

What is the current impact of the problem ?

Shops are losing potential new customers because they aren’t discoverable via /shops.

What is the benefit of focusing on this ?

We can begin to promote to shoppers that they can find food online via /shops, providing another source of customers for our enterprises. And we can get this promotion done via councils or other organisations who are connected to our target audience (ie everyone who buys food)

Potential solutions that will solve the problem ?

[brainstorming to list feature candidates]

  • Include in the search for shops the postcodes that are included in their delivery locations.
  • Include a radius for pick up that the shopper could set (e.g. within 5km/10km/etc).
