Testers catchup 18th December

Discussion topics

Growing test ready column :chart_with_upwards_trend:

  • there are some core funds available. This means, we’re able to invoice manual testing of PRs other than funded features / S2s.
  • @konrad possibly available 4hrs per week, starting January
  • @filipefurtado available to contribute in December/January but unsure for how long after that
  • Open question: How many hours do we need per week, in manual testing? (we’ll need to look on Clockify). Should we consider hiring at some point?

Test automation

  • since there are some core funds available again, we’ve discussed re-introducing some test automation work
  • where are the greater needs for test automation? Depending on identifying these, we should be able to add new tasks on the QA roadmap, if there is indeed need to. Would be great to have devs feedback on this.
  • we’ve had some S1 and S2 recently and release patches, which among other factors, may relate to less test automation work

To confirm on budget circle:

  • @filipefurtado what are the currently allocated hours per week? A suggestion would be to work on manual tests and do some work on test automation maintenance, for example, on recent S1/S2s, flaky specs. For future roadmap items we’d best check back again in January/February and see where were at in terms of priorities.

To do

  • @Rachel @filipefurtado @konrad are due to prepare a Discourse post to address some of the questions above, like hiring or not, number of hours for manual testing, roadmap for test automation, etc.

Happy holiday season!! :wine_glass: :christmas_tree: :gift:
