Creating a subscription: Charges are not allowed by this customer

I have some one-off customers who now want to start a weekly delivery, they are already in OFN (UK) and have ordered previously using Stripe.

I’ve selected the ‘subscription’ checkbox.

In /Orders I try to create a new subscription, I can select customers but when I select Stripe as a payment method it gives me a red error: Charges are not allowed by this customer

What should I do please?

OFN UK has it’s own forum for this kind of user support question:

The shopper in this case needs to give permission for OFN to charge their card automatically.
