Updated text and links in registration wizard and emails

This is the first window in the registration process…

When they click “Sign up now” they receive this email…(email 1/3 in the sign up process)
This email doesn’t appear to recognise that they are signing up as an enterprise (not as a shopper). It would be ideal if we could tailor the contents of this email to enterprise users.

Here is a suggested rewrite of an enterprise specific welcome email:

Hello!

Welcome to the Open Food Network!

We’re thrilled to have you on board as an enterprise user! Whether you’re a producer or a hub we’re sure you’ll enjoy using the OFN to connect with customers and other food movers. Together we can create a positive change in our food system!

Here are your login details:
Your login email is …Email…

Now that you’ve signed up, the next step is to create a profile for your enterprise. If you have not already been through our profile set-up process, you can access it here using the email above to login. Once you’ve been through this process, you’ll receive another email from us with further instructions.

Want to know more about the different ways that enterprise users can use the OFN? Check out more detailed information for producers and hubs on our website!

Cheers,
OFN

This email (and the following 2 emails received during the sign up process) show as being from ‘orders’ not from Open Food Network, can we change the sender?

This is the second wizard window:

Here’s a proposed rephrasing of this window:

here are the hyperlinks…
shopper sign up link - https://openfoodnetwork.org.au/#/signup
Pre-sign up pages…?
http://global.openfoodnetwork.org/platform/producers/
http://global.openfoodnetwork.org/platform/hubs/

The next 2 windows are fine…

Can we add a few things to this “Last step to add” page… (below is the existing page)

  1. Another blue ? box describing ‘non producers’…
“If you’re not a producer, you’re probably someone who sells and distributes food. You might be a hub, coop, buying group, retailer, wholesaler or other. “
  2. Can we change the ‘continue’ box to “Create profile”?
  3. Let’s alert them that they’ll now be sent an email confirmation email.
Here’s a screenshot showing these 3 points incorporated into the window…

Currently, when they click the continue button in the “Last steps to add” window, they get sent the second (2/3) email in this process… here’s how the email currently looks…

Some proposed changes to this email:

  • Can we have two types of confirmation emails? One for those who selected that they were producers? And one for those who said they were not producers? This allows info in this email to be more accurate to their needs.

Here’s a draft of this email (links to be specific according to producer/non producer status). Note, this email is intended to primarily be an email confirmation email- ie it has as little information as possible, because people are used to ignoring email confirmation emails and just clicking the link… but it has some info in it, just in case they get lost after this point. The page they email confirmation links to will also have this info (double up).

Hi, Name,

A profile for Enterprise Name has been successfully created! Before your profile can be visible and fully functional we need to confirm this email address.

Please click the link below to confirm your email and to continue complete your profile setup.

After confirming your email you’ll be prompted to select a profile type (more info about profile types). You’ll then have access to the administration side of your account (accessible here). This user manual (link to either producer or hub set up guide) has all the information you’ll need to become familiar with the OFN’s features and to start using your profile or online store.

Cheers,
OFN

…So after clicking ‘continue’ in the ‘last step to add…’ page, this is the next window:

Can we make these changes to this page…

The next three pages are fine…

The final page of the wizard is currently like this…

Can we change it to this… real emphasis on the ‘confirm your email’ part…

Ok so once the registration wizard is complete, we hope that they’ll go to their inbox and click on the confirmation link in email (2/3) (above). This link takes them to… FOR PRODUCERS

We want these changes to the page…

  • Rather than confirming the email the moment they click on the link (green banner), we want them to have to select a ‘type’ and THEN click ‘Confirm my email’… this can trigger the sending off of a third and final email with information that’s specific to the ‘type’ they have selected (with scope for adding info about how they’ll be charged in the future).
  • the second producer option has been removed, because it just adds complexity where there doesn’t need to be any.
  • include links to pricing and description of types…

current view FOR HUBS:

Changes to be made:

  • As above…"- Rather than confirming the email the moment they click on the link (green banner), we want them to have to select a ‘type’ and THEN click ‘Confirm my email’… this can trigger the sending off of a third and final email with information that’s specific to the ‘type’ they have selected (with scope for adding info about how they’ll be charged in the future).
  • We want to add the option of being a ‘hub shopfront’.
  • This gives them ‘ANY’ status
  • And we also want this to raise their enterprise limit to 5… Then we’ll place a button (somewhere) that says ‘request to increase your enterprise limit’- this sends us an email.

After either a producer user or a hub user have selected their type, they are directed to their dashboard (enterprise view). This is the first time they have seen this side of the website.

  • Can we have a button on the Dashboard that links to the user manual?
  • The first time they land on the Dashboard can we have a banner which highlights the existence of the user manual button, and encourages them to use it?

Also, after they have confirmed their email, they are currently sent this email (3/3)…

As discussed above, if possible, this email should be tailored to each enterprise type (producer profile, producer store, hub profile, hub store)… here’s the basic content though. Note this email contains the most information and reference material of all 3 that are sent during the setup process…

Welcome, name!

Thank you for confirming your email address. Enterprise Name is now part of the OFN.

A set-up guide for producers/hubs can be found here….HYPERLINK…

Your profile/store can be managed through your administration side of your account. Which can be accessed here… https://openfoodnetwork.org.au/admin or by logging in at the OFN homepage, and then clicking on the cog in the top right hand side of the homepage, and selected Administration.

If you have any difficulties… check out our FAQs. HYPERLINK

The OFN also has an online forum where our community can disucss topics related to the OFN software and the unique challenges of running a food enterprise. We encourage users to engage with one another on this forum, to share ideas and tips. Because the OFN is a constantly evolving website, we invite feedback from our users about ways that the website can be improved, to better meet the unique needs of food enterprises. If you’d like to get involved with feature development or to contribute to discussions around what features should be developed, join our community go here.

For hub shopfront users: we should make the process of creating E2E links very clear (through link to documentation) and the need to raise their enterprise limit above 5. We are assuming that few hubs will need to create E2E links with existing producers, most will create their own, and E2Es will form automatically

For profile only users:
Have you considered opening an online store on the OFN? Now that you have a profile on the OFN you can easily open your own online store. 30 day free trial…

We’re so pleased to have you as a valued member of the Open Food Network! Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.

Cheers,

This is one of four interconnected issues that need to be dealt with. This post and the three linked below outline the immediate (Phase 1) basic implementation of:

  1. Updated text and links in registration wizard and emails
  2. Create Enterprise Accounts page where
  • E User can change Enterprise Types
  • includes Enable EU to set Enterprise to Hub
  • [next] see payment implications (manage their Owned Enterprises)
  1. Direct registration email confirmation link to new Enterprise Accounts page
  2. Final Welcome email

Updated text and links in registration wizard and emails

  • post 3; second wizard window
    • replace text “create your enterprise profile” with “you can now create a profile for your Producer or Hub”
    • add last line “It’s also the first step towards trading on the OFN, or opening an online store”
  • post 5; ‘last step to add’ window
    • another blue message box describing ‘non-producers’. “If you’re not a producer, you’re probably someone who sells and distributes food. You might be a hub, coop, buying group, retailer, wholesaler or other."
    • change the Continue box to “Create Profile”
    • NB. in discussion with @oeoeaio we think don’t tell them about email confirmation here, as we actually want them to keep going through the wizard
  • post 6: amend ‘email confirmation’ email with some additional info
    • keep generic (not separate into producer / not-producer), just have link to top level of user guide

This is beautiful @sstead! @CynthiaReynolds I think this answers our concern about the registration process / user experience in the first contact with OFN
