Open Food France has signed the pledge long time ago. Today the organization of the OFN community in France is changing, we are creating a hybrid model with two entities :
- the association Open Food France whose perimeter is to BUILD the OFN commons (find money to contribute to the global development of the OFN software, do R&D on food hubs organisation and publish open source resources, etc.).
- And the general interest cooperative CoopCircuits whose perimeter is to SELL SERVICES on the OFN commons : Saas service on the OFN software, trainings, consulting, etc.
On training and consulting, the two entities will tightly work together.
We have chosen this organization with two entities to take the opportunity to raise funds on both sides : on the philantropic funders for the association, and on the impact investors for the cooperative.
Also it makes sense for us to protect the commons by keeping it in a fully non commercial entity, the association, and enable potentialy other commercial entities to build services on our commons (like white label for instance).
So given those explanation, we would like to review our signature and re-sign this pledge jointly in the name of our two entities, Open Food France and CoopCircuits, who would jointly represent the OFN community in France.
Myriam, as coordinator of Open Food France association
@Rachel as general director of CoopCircuits cooperative
The new respective websites will be ready by the end of september. For now you can check the [new CoopCircuits WP site](http://explaining our journey as OFFrance, from one association to 2 entities now with the Cooperatives, the why, pros and cons sharing stories of users and how they use OFN in the French context shall I talk a bit about interoperability and Data Food Consortium ?) that will be attached to the OFN platform whose name is currently switching from Open Food France to CoopCircuits. We are building the new Open Food France informational website, I’ll update that poste when the sites are ready.
